The Red Book: Graduate and Post-doctoral Studies Calendar
The Red Book is the official university document outlining graduate studies information. In the Red Book you’ll find: the calendar of dates for the school year, the graduate programs offered at McGill, program requirements, admissions procedures, and all the university’s graduate and research policies. Please note that program requirements may vary from department to department. If you are unsure of your department’s specific requirements, it is best to speak with your Graduate Program Director or Graduate Program Coordinator / Secretary. If your department does not have a graduate program director, you should speak to your department chair.
The Green Book: Student Rights & Responsibilities
The Handbook on Student Rights and Responsibilities, also known as The Green Book, outlines your rights and responsibilities as a student at McGill. Inside you’ll find the Code of Student Conduct, the Charter of Student Rights, the Code of Student Grievance Procedures, and other policies and codes that pertain to students. Hard copies of The Green Book can be obtained on the fourth floor of Thomson House or you can download a PDF version here.
