Student Support Program

The Committee for Graduate Student Support is a group of concerned graduate student volunteers that operates to educate graduate students about their rights and responsibilities and to support students in cases where their rights have been violated. In pursuit of this mission, the CGSS provides a confidential peer support service, and acts as a source of information on the University rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
What we do:
The CGSS endeavours to educate students about their rights and responsibilities, and to keep them up-to-date on changes to policies that may affect them. It does this through orientation workshops and activities and the production of print and e-resources.  The CGSS maintains an up-to-date resource library on policies, regulations and procedures that is available to all graduate students.  CGSS members also act as case workers to provide support and referral for students whose civil or human rights have been violated.  In cases where students wish to seek preliminary legal advice, the CGSS can facilitate monetary disbursements from Trust Fund for Student Support (TFSS).
How to contact us:
If you would like to consult a case worker about an issue you are dealing with, contact the Student Support Commissioner by email  at cgss.pgss@mail.mcgill.ca
