About The PGSS

The PGSS is the representative body for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows at McGill University. Through the PGSS Council, the highest governing body of the PGSS, representation throughout the McGill governing structures is organized. The PGSS coordinates numerous services, activities, and benefits for its members.

PGSS MISSION

The mission of the Society is to optimally, responsibly, and efficiently serve its members.
In pursuit of this mission, the Society will do the following:

a) Provide representation for its members and encourage involvement in political processes, both internal and external to the University;

b) Work to improve the quality and accessibility of post-graduate education at McGill;

c) Represent, promote and defend the rights of Society members;

d) Provide resources and services to improve the quality of life of Society members at McGill;

e) Disseminate information of interest to Society members;

f) Provide a financially and temporally accessible, popular social environment to Society members;

g) Administer Thomson House optimally.


PGSS Constitution, Article 1

The PGSS is a non-proft corporation constituted under Part III of the Quebec Companies Act, with all graduate students and post-doctoral fellows at McGill University as its members.
